Chuck’s Story
Faerykin Theater was founded by Chuck Hall, a Marriage and Family Therapist, retired Play Therapist, puppeteer, and artist.

My lifelong love affair with puppetry began in front of a television. Like so many children of the 1960s and 1970s, I grew up mesmerized by Sesame Street and later The Muppet Show. But for me, the fascination didn’t end when the TV was turned off.
At the age of ten, I took my first step into the world of puppetry not by watching, but by creating. I found a pattern for Kermit the Frog in one of my Grandma’s sewing magazines, and with great determination, stitched together my very first puppet. From that moment on, I was hooked. Puppets became both my passion and my purpose.
By the time I turned 18, I was already performing puppet shows for Head Start programs and Project Outreach, bringing joy and laughter to young audiences who were often in great need of both. My early shows blended fairy tales, music, and puppetry to create inclusive, engaging experiences for children of all backgrounds.
As I pursued a career in mental health, I became a Registered Play Therapist and found that puppetry wasn’t just entertaining. It was also therapeutic. In the playroom, puppets gave the children a safe and imaginative space to express feelings that words alone couldn’t reach. Whether it was fear, anger, joy, or confusion, the puppets could “speak” for the children, facilitating breakthroughs that traditional talk therapy often struggled to achieve. For me, puppetry became a bridge between play and healing.
Now, I’m bringing my decades of passion and professional insight full circle with an exciting new project: Faerykin Castle, an original puppet series slated for release in October of 2025. Best described as Addams Family meets Sesame Street, Faerykin Castle is a whimsical yet weirdly wise show that blends quirky humor, spooky charm, and heartfelt lessons. Designed to appeal to children and nostalgic adults alike, the series features a cast of original puppet characters who live in a magical castle where fairy tales are flipped, monsters have feelings, and being different is something to celebrate.
More than just a show, Faerykin Castle is the culmination of a lifelong journey. It’s a tribute to the power of imagination, the healing force of play, and the enduring magic of puppetry. For me, puppets are more than fabric and foam. They’re portals to understanding, laughter, and transformation.
And I’m just getting started.
